QB Cup: Rock, Level One, Lynx and Al Batabit Open the Season with Week 1 Wins

Riyadh — BLVD City · The first week of the QB Cup, the headline event of QB Festival, wrapped up with four fiery match-ups running from Wednesday 29 July to Saturday 1 August 2026. The opening week delivered wins for four teams and one dramatic surprise from the Dark Committee, launching the competition along two parallel tracks — creators and celebrities — on the long road to the final.

How are results calculated?

In each match-up, a team of creators faces a team of celebrities, and every team begins the tournament with four blends representing its chances of staying in the competition. The winning team keeps all its blends, while the loser drops one. At the end of the main stage, teams are ranked by remaining blends — the more a team holds on to, the higher its chances of reaching the final. Each match-up features three of the tournament’s game categories, and winning each category earns the team one point.

Week 1 match results

Wednesday 29 July — Rock 2–1 BKF: the season opened with a tight contest that Rock edged 2–1, grabbing the tournament’s first points and keeping all four of its blends, while BKF dropped one.

Thursday 30 July — Level One 2–1 Ice Team: in a match marked by a thrilling Dark Committee intervention, Level One took it 2–1 over Ice Team to move up with a full blend balance. (Details of the intervention below.)

Friday 31 July — Lynx 3–0 Al-Diwaniya: Lynx delivered the strongest performance of Week 1, sweeping Al-Diwaniya 3–0 to emerge as an early frontrunner, while Al-Diwaniya took its first loss and dropped a blend.

Saturday 1 August — Al Batabit 2–1 AZ: the week closed with a strong contest that Al Batabit sealed 2–1 over AZ, preserving all four blends, while AZ lost one.

QB Cup game categories

The tournament’s categories are varied to ensure that excelling in one area alone isn’t enough to win, and each match-up draws three of them:

  • QB Gaming — fast digital match-ups combining skill, quick thinking, and teamwork, offering a different competitive experience from one game to the next.
  • QB Motion — physical challenges testing speed, precision, fitness, and coordination between teammates, at a live, high-energy pace before the crowd.
  • QB Mind — mental games built on thinking, memory, quick answers, and reading the opponent, requiring focus and cooperation to make the right call.
  • QB AI — creative challenges where participants use AI to build ideas, content, and projects, judged on creativity, execution, and the strength of the pitch.
  • QB Mystery — mysterious, surprise games selected and proposed by the Dark Committee, unknown to participants in advance, appearing at any moment to flip the competition.
  • QB Crowd — segments that make the audience part of the competition through direct participation, challenges, interaction, and backing the side they represent.

What's next?

As Week 2 begins, the winning teams enter with their full balance intact, while the losing teams look to make up their lost blends before it’s too late. The competition is at its peak, and the Dark Committee is waiting for its next moment.
